Your data privacy is our core principle.

xyzEditor is built with a "Local-First" architecture. This means that your documents, settings, and personal data are processed and stored exclusively within your own browser. We do not have access to your content.

1. Data Processor

xyzEditor acts as the software provider. However, since the application runs entirely client-side, you are the controller of your own data. We do not process, store, or transmit your document content to any cloud server.

2. Data Collection & Storage

We minimize data collection to the absolute essentials required for the application to function:

  • Documents: Your Markdown text is stored in your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly export/download it.
  • Preferences: UI settings (theme, font size, etc.) are saved locally in your browser.
  • Analytics: We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand website performance. This service is privacy-first: it does not use cookies, does not track individual users across sites, and does not collect any personal data (PII). All metrics are strictly aggregate and anonymous.

3. Hosting & Infrastructure

xyzEditor is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. While Cloudflare processes connection data (like IP addresses) to deliver the application securely and prevent DDoS attacks, this data is transient and governed by Cloudflare's strict privacy standards. We do not have access to this raw log data.

4. Your Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have specific rights regarding your data. Since xyzEditor stores data locally:

  • Right to Access: You can view all your stored data simply by opening the application.
  • Right to Rectification: You can edit your documents and settings directly within the editor.
  • Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You can delete your data at any time by clearing your browser's cache or using the "Delete Section" features within the app. Once cleared, this data is permanently removed from your device.
  • Right to Portability: You can download your documents as standard .md files to move them to another system.

5. Third-Party Subprocessors

xyzEditor is a standalone client-side application. We do not use external sub-processors for document handling. Resources like fonts and icons are either bundled with the application or served via standard content delivery networks (CDNs) strictly for caching purposes.
