For the Ragu
- 500g Ground Beef
- 250g Italian Sausage
- 1 Large Onion (finely diced)
- 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 800g Tomato Passata
- 2 tbsp Tomato Paste
- 1 tsp Dried Oregano
For the Cheese Blend
- 500g Ricotta Cheese
- 1 Egg (beaten)
- 200g Fresh Spinach (chopped)
- 300g Mozzarella (shredded)
- 100g Parmesan (grated)
👩🍳 Preparation Steps
- Simmer the Sauce: In a large pot, brown the beef and sausage. Drain fat. Add onion and garlic; cook until soft. Stir in passata, paste, and oregano. Simmer on low for 45 minutes.
- Prep the Cheese: In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, and spinach. Season with salt and pepper.
- Layering: In a 9x13 inch pan, spread a thin layer of sauce. Add noodles, then ricotta mix, mozzarella, and more sauce. Repeat 3 times.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake at 190°C (375°F) for 25 mins. Remove foil and bake for another 25 mins until bubbly and golden.
